I grew up in Waterford, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. I moved to SW Florida when I was 19, where I still live.
I love reading and have read hundreds, maybe thousands of books. But, I think my all-time favorite might be Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. Or maybe The Velveteen Rabbit... Or maybe Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory... Or maybe The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh... Or maybe The Night Before Christmas... Or maybe...
My parents divorced when I was two-years-old and they both remarried. Now, I have three half-sisters, a half-brother, a step-brother and three step-sisters (none are wicked).
I’m observant and every poem or story I’ve written was inspired by something true.
Aqua
I have one daughter, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
My ideas usually pop into my head while I am busy with other things, so I dictate into my phone then share it to my computer. I write the rough draft on my computer and print it out so I can edit with my red pen on a clipboard. After the rough draft has so many fixes, changes, and scribbles I can barely read it, I go back to the computer, make the changes and print it again for more revisions. I repeat that process until I’m satisfied.
Chocolate Chip Oatmeal, of course!
In no particular order and definitely not at the same time, I have had three dogs, 12 or more cats, two hamsters, a grey squirrel, three ducks, 3 turtles, and rabbits (too many to count). All I have now is Penelope, a giant goldfish living in my backyard pond.
When I was in school, I played softball, and lettered in track (400 hurdles and long jump). Now, I ride my bike, swim, dabble at golf, and I’m a terrible bowler. I like to watch the Super Bowl, Wimbledon, and the Olympics.
Young enough to care and old enough to know better.
A Zebra 301 fine tip black, or red, if I’m editing.
I love adventure, and I have a goal to visit all 50 states—so far, I’m up to 37. I’ve also visited France, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Belgium, Scotland, Ireland, Jamaica, and The Bahamas. I like to take pictures of where I've traveled and tell the stories in scrapbooks.
I love gardening and I grow my own tomatoes, peppers, beans, kale, spinach, and herbs— I enjoy cooking with the food I grow myself.
