More About Me

   

I am a writer and illustrator of stories and poetry for children. My inspiration comes from observing creatures in nature, people watching, and playing with my three grandchildren. Mrs. Troeger, my third grade teacher, rewarded us each afternoon by reading aloud to our class, mostly Newberry winners, and instilled in me the power of a good story. I love reading to children and have been since the sixth grade. My favorite thing about writing for kids, is picture books are required reading for my research. In 2017, I retired from my business career to focus on my writing full time. Besides writing everyday, I have been attending writing classes, studying the publishing industry, and networking within the writing community. I am a member of SCBWI, CBI, Publisher’s Marketplace, AWP, and Historical Novel Society and moderate a critique group at Inked Voices.
